Mangrove Matters PH

Matthew Tabilog, an incoming MEXT Scholar and graduate student at Hokkaido University's Field Science Center for Northern Biosphere, is a passionate advocate for mangrove conservation. Known as "Tabby," he founded Mangrove Matters PH in 2020 to promote youth-led ocean literacy, advocacy, and nature-based solutions. A Magna Cum Laude graduate in BS Marine Biology from Silliman University focusing on blue carbon, he also chairs the EAAFP (East Asian Australasian Flyway Partnerships) Youth Task Force and he is the Knowledge and Capacity Building Lead for Youth Engaged in Wetlands. Tabby recently represented the Philippines during the East Asian Seas Youth Forum in South Korea in April 2024 and he participated in the East Asian Seas Congress in China in November 2024.
