Wilson Barbon

Wilson joined CI Philippines in October 2022 as Conservation Program Senior Director (CPSD) to provide strategic leadership in program delivery and development. Wilson has at least 25 years of experience in development in the Philippines and in Asia. Before joining CI Philippines, he served as country director for the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) in Myanmar from 2015 to 2022. He also served as Principal Investigator in 2017-2022 for a regional action research project in Myanmar, Cambodia and the Philippines funded by the Consortium of International Agricultural Research Centers (CGIAR) and the International Development Research Center – Canada. He has a master's degree in Environment and Natural Resources Management from the University of the Philippines - Open University and a bachelor's degree in biology from the Ateneo de Davao University. Wilson has published on climate change adaptation, climate-smart agriculture, and community resilience building.
